One of our gardens: patio, path and raised beds.

Where's the house?

Your postcode, or just the first half. We'll check we work there.

Then a few taps about the job, and where to reach you. About a minute in all.

A garden you'll actually use.

Most gardens need the same things: somewhere level to sit, a path that doesn't flood, and boundaries that stand up. We build the hard parts properly, so the rest of the garden can grow round them.

It's the same team and the same care as our building work, from the base under the patio to the edging along the beds.

  • Patios and terracesPorcelain, stone or brick, laid with a slight fall so the rain runs off.
  • PathsFrom the back door to the end of the garden.
  • Raised bedsTimber sleepers, built in with the paving.
  • Walls and fencingNew boundaries, built to stand up.

Walls and fences: do you need permission?

Usually not, as long as:

  • It's no more than 1 metre high next to a road or the pavement beside it, or no more than 2 metres high anywhere else.
  • The house isn't a listed building, and the boundary isn't shared with a listed building.
  • In a conservation area you might need permission to take a wall or fence down.

Paving a front garden has its own rules about drainage, which we cover on our driveways page.

Questions

What people ask us.

Do I need permission for a garden wall or fence?

Usually not, if it's no more than 2 metres high, or 1 metre next to a road, and the house isn't listed. Conservation areas can have extra rules.

Can you sort drainage too?

Yes. We look at where the water goes on the visit and build the drainage in with the paving.

Do you do planting?

We build the hard landscaping: patios, paths, beds, walls and fences. Tell us what you've got in mind for the planting and we'll leave the beds ready for it.

Who does the work?

Our own team, not subcontractors.

How much does a new patio or garden cost?

It depends on the size, the ground and the materials. We'll come and see it for free, then give you a clear quote.
