Out of the house, still at home.
A garden room gives you a proper space to work, train or make things, without building onto the house.
We build it like a room, not a shed: a solid base, insulated walls and roof, power and lighting, and a finish that suits the garden.
- Home officesWarm, quiet and wired for work.
- Gyms and studiosRoom to move, on a floor that takes it.
- The baseDug out and laid properly, so it stays level.
- Power and lightingWired by our own electricians.
Do you need planning permission?
Often not. Garden buildings are usually allowed under “permitted development”, within limits. The main ones are:
- Single storey, with the eaves no higher than 2.5 metres.
- No higher than 2.5 metres overall if it's within 2 metres of a boundary. Further in, up to 4 metres with a pitched roof or 3 metres with any other roof.
- Not in front of the house, and no verandas, balconies or platforms higher than 0.3 metres.
- Together with any extensions, it can't cover more than half the land around the original house.
- It can't be a separate home. In a conservation area, one at the side of the house needs planning permission, and at a listed building any garden building does.

What people ask us.
Do I need planning permission for a garden room?
Often not, if it stays within the permitted development limits on height, position and size. Conservation areas and listed buildings have stricter rules. We check yours when we visit.
Does it have power?
Yes. We wire it for lights and sockets, and our own team does it.
Who does the work?
Our own team, not subcontractors.
How much does a garden room cost?
It depends on the size, the base and the finish. We'll come and see it for free, then give you a clear quote.
