Most garages end up as storage. Converted, yours becomes a bedroom, an office, a playroom or a bigger kitchen, without building out into the garden.
We sort the drawings and building control, and our own team does the rest: the floor, the walls and insulation, a window where the door was, the electrics, the heating and the finish.

Do you need planning permission?
Usually not, if the work is inside the garage and doesn't make the building bigger. There are exceptions:
- On some newer estates, and in conservation areas, the right to convert without planning permission has been taken away, so it's worth checking with your council first.
- Turning the garage into a separate home needs planning permission, whatever the work.
- A listed building may need listed building consent.
Building regulations apply either way, and we arrange the building control sign-off. We check what yours needs when we visit.

We do the drawings ourselves or through our architect, and arrange building control.

Our own team does every trade, from the floor and the new window to the electrics and heating.

Sign-off and finish
Building control signs it off, and we finish it: plastering, floors and decorating.

Do I need planning permission to convert my garage?
Usually not, if the work is inside and the building doesn't get bigger. Some estates and conservation areas have had that right taken away, so it's worth checking with your council. We tell you what yours needs when we visit.
Do I need building regulations approval?
Yes. A garage turned into a room you live in has to meet building regulations, and we arrange the sign-off.
